Will hacking a wall decrese the price value of a flat?

I am considering to have a walk-in wardrobe for my new 4-rm flat. But I would need to hack one wall panel to do so. I heard from friends that it will be more difficult to sell the flat and the price value of the flat will drop when I remove wall panels. Is this true?

I also combined 2 rooms into 1 to create a bigger master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe for my 5-room flat. Have just sold my flat, and i find that the valuation has not decreased cause I have 1 less room. However, finding a buyer may be difficult, as the buyer may want to have all the rooms intact. luckily, i manage to find a couple who liked the design and dun mind. You just need more time to find a buyer in future. Definitely not for large families, but for couples or newlyweds.
